If this sensor fails, the ECU will throw an error code P00160 which indicates that the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft aren't in sync, possibly indicating the chain stretching or a jump link on the upper chain of timing. The code won't appear without the additional information supplied by other sensors (G4 or G40).
Testing can be a bit difficult since there are two connector pins and they perform different functions but the most effective method to test it is by measuring resistance between the sensor and the ECU. It should read around 1000 ohms when the sensor is operating at its maximum. Look for signs of coolant, or oil in the connector bay if you are experiencing issues with this component.
2. Injectors
Yesterday, when i was accelerating to the fullest speed from highway paytoll i had massive power loss like the engine is out of gas or the injectors aren't firing any more. I pulled out the spark plugs this morning and found that 3 were drenched in gasoline and the fourth was dry. I put a piece of tissue over each injector hole and when I turn the engine on without sparks, the three with gazoline jump right out. The fourth one remains closed. I tested the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30, and 48/55. I got zero ohm. So i assume the problem is in another place.
I also tried to reset PID but without success. The car will start when the G28 is unplugged, and it is running fine with the G28 connected. However the intermittent misfire issue still occurs at higher RPM. The coolant temperature sensor (G62) shows the wrong temperature of -49c, even if I unplug it. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar when the actual pressure is zero.
I don't know what to do. I feel like i've pretty much eliminated everything else. I'm afraid i may have missed something. If anyone has any ideas please share them! TIA!

The fuel pump in the g28 is activated by a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter functions similarly to the G4 sender, and both operate on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles.
