Robot vacuums and mops are becoming more capable. They have passed our tests for cleaning, and can take care of different floors. Choose models that allow you to select between a variety of modes, including self-emptying and clean stairs.

Many of the best robot vacuum models integrate with your smartphone. Find an application that lets you save maps, schedules and select cleaning modes.

1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro

The gloss black and gunmetal Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is among the most impressive robot vacuums and mop combos available. It makes use of lidar to navigate and create maps of rooms and floors (even multiple levels), and works with the free Eufy Clean app to let you set schedules and alter the behavior of the S1.

When I tested the S1 It was quick to identify our downstairs, which has laminate flooring in the kitchen, dining room and bathrooms, along with carpeting of medium-pile as well as a large area rug. It easily drove close to walls without colliding with them and even managed to drive across thresholds that were raised in the room without problem, although it sometimes struggled to get down stairs in a single pass. The S1's docking station automatically emptys its trash bin and replenishes its onboard water tank with clean, ozonated water prior to each mopping session. The S1's tank of water holds enough for about 12 cleaning sessions before it has to be empty, but it will differ based the amount you use the mop.

The S1 needs periodic maintenance, just like other 2-in-1 robots. In order to do this, you'll have to rinse out the water tank that is dirty regularly to prevent it from clogging. You'll also need to clean the swivel wheel and sensors frequently to avoid them from getting clogged by dirt or dust. But, overall the S1 is easy to maintain, especially when compared to other combos that require more care.

2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete

This all-in-one robotic vacuum and mop combo from Ecovacs is a reliable option for your cleaning needs. Its robot vacuum has 8,700Pa suction power and comes with a number advanced features like voice control and smart path planning that cleans around furniture and eliminates obstacles. The mopping capabilities of the robot are impressive, with rotating mops that actually lift and scrub the floor, rather than simply moving the pad across it. The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station as needed.

The robot comes with an easy-to-use interface that guides you throughout the process. It comes with a hand vacuum that recharges to reach those areas the robot isn't able to reach as well as two water tanks that are automatically empty and filled when needed. It comes with a variety of settings that can be used to fine-tune your cleaning preferences.

The Deebot X2 Combo Complete is a good vacuum cleaner. It has a strong suction that is able to easily pick up dust and debris that other robots struggle with. Its navigation abilities are also decent, but it can get stuck on small mats and rugs in my home (which you can alleviate by creating virtual boundaries in the app). The mopping capabilities are quite excellent, too, with a pair of spinning mops that actually lift and scrub floors instead of simply dragging the pad over it. The mops are cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station as required. Mops can also be filled at the top of the station as required.

3. Dreame X40 Ultra

Dreame's X30 Ultra best robot hoover vacuum and mop was released earlier this year. But their latest flagship model comes with even more impressive features. It boasts fantastic cleaning results and hands-off maintenance which makes it a strong contender for our top mop and robot vacuum list. Its superior mapping abilities, RGB AI smart detection and a larger side brush ensure an efficient, custom-designed clean is accomplished.

The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming, picking up large and fine particles from both hard floors and carpets. It cleaned the dirtiest areas of our tests with ease by avoiding pet hairs as well as other messes. The sweeping power is enhanced by a side brush that automatically extends to reach hard-to-reach corners, and an extending mop pad that can be placed alongside baseboards.

Its navigation is nimble, navigating tight spaces and negotiating stairs without skipping a beat. It can go from one room to another without having to change direction. The Q5 is still one of the most powerful mopping and vacuums we've ever seen at this price even though it's not able to wipe your floor. It has a strong suction of 5500Pa, and an best automatic vacuum cleaner empty system so you don't need to empty the bin manually each time. It comes with a smart app that lets you schedule cleanings and set the floor type. It also features an automatic water tank filling system and washing system that is hands-free.

Its mops are also impressive, with 2700Pa of power to take on dirt, dust and pet hair on both carpets and hard floors. The Q5 is one of the few robots we test that didn't have trouble with high-pile carpets and area rugs, but it couldn't clean up cat litter or cable tangles, which is no surprise since it does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance.

5. K10 Plus

K10 Plus is the quietest robotic vacuum we've ever tested. It also has a unique mapping system that allows it to reach tight spaces and corners that other vacuums cannot. It also stores dust in a bigger dustbin which means you have to empty it less often. It also has washable filters which can further cut costs. This robot can also detect carpets and boost the suction when needed. You can also mark off areas you would like to be able to keep from using the app.
