Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning both dry and wet messes in one time and without the need to switch devices. They also can save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good robot vacuum combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you running with a clean, full dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in a matter of minutes.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. Its mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of pet hair, dirt and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a variety of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For instance, you can decide to let the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen areas but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and its smart navigation technology are also excellent, with the robot vacuum best being able to detect tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only issue it has is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at a high speed, but an instant glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and the obstacles it's run into or avoided.

The docking station comes with an LCD display that shows the need for maintenance like emptying the debris and cleaning the dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank, by using a 600ml bottle filled with eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time and the mop is capable of operating for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode, and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is simple to use and intuitive and lets you view all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot mop and vacuum. The model this year has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This increases the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pick up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may miss.

This Roborock model, just like the other two I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by having a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It then can automatically alter its path and clean them without missing a beat.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed however, it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek and angular design is attractive and it has just three physical buttons: the power button, that also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank self-empties, and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only drawback I could find with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if it's required), it's a pain to take off the mount to wash it manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and set up these features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, track battery life and component maintenance. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control on this model, which is a shame considering the performance of this model.

3. Dreame X40

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful alternatives available. The app is simple and easy to use and the X40's intelligent features are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, switch modes, look at floor plans and maps, and manage mopping setting. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it a great choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin, and clean mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect when the mop pad is filled and alert you before it overflows, thus reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive available however, it comes with many additional features that set it apart. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature of its mops, uses two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, dirt particles and remove spills and dirty spots.

The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is a great feature as it stops the build-up of odours and mould in storage, and also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen on other best robot vacuum cleaner and mop vacuum and mop models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.

There are many options, including the ability to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. These can be set via the app or direct buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has many options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also offers several features that aren't offered on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks sophisticated and classy. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-1 robots on this list - at around 4kg but it's not too heavy either, and it feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping system is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. They can even extend to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice addition.
