The Best Robot automatic hoover

The best robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention, and leaves your floors spotless. Its price is affordable and its high-end functions (such as dirt detector) are positives.

They also come with carpet boost, a feature which boosts the robot vacuums with mop's power when it spots an abundance of dirt on the carpet to get it clean quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on bare floors, and they are particularly adept in cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to become entangled in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't come with an image sensor that lets it see the corners of a room.

It's still a good deal for those whose office or home has a lot of unfinished floors and you want to save some money. It's also extremely quiet and operates while you are at work or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming feature that's available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has an auto-emptying dock, however. If you want to, you can switch the mopping pad for a dry one in seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can also sweep floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with an impressive suction system and a self-emptying bin. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, although it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time and ensure better cleaning. The app allows you to modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is comparable to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to pull back and extend its mops. This will help prevent cross contamination. It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming, a feature that we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combos.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

The robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular design that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the bulky models from the competitors. It's among our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also the most intelligent. It features advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that has an exemplary 10/10 in our tests due to a mix of high-tech sensors, which include a camera, structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot hoover and mop in our tests that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station and it has an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is easy to use, offering an intuitive mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only issue is that it's still quite a noisy unit, which can be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work or at night as you try to sleep.

It's also a bit costly however, not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally powerful and more attractive. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that is very efficient, but it's more expensive and make more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a variety of sophisticated features to help you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner like Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically empty the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, and cleans and drys mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to create floor plans and detect obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its premium competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time hazards detection, though this wasn't completely foolproof in our tests, and could be confused with power cords or obstructions.

Its vacuum cleaner has an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to accomplish the task. It also comes with an option known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas of the house depending on how dirty the areas tend to be.

If you have a bigger home, it is worth choosing a model that has the option of cleaning zones or spots. This allows you to tell the robot which area of your house needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice control. A stairway mode is useful if you have a large furniture. The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, set up an area for cleaning or to prioritise your dirtiest rooms to improve performance. The app also provides access to a host of features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums best vacuums, which means it can reach corners and under furniture more easily. It also has a strong suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for hair of pets. And you can set up a spot clean that scours a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to be caught by low thresholds and is noisier than the other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that isn't able to double as a bin for emptying.
