One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to getting stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.

However, it's a good choice, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot, and you have a bare-floored home or office. It's also quiet and can be used when you're at work or at school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have a self-emptying dock, though. 2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a compact, sleek package. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient in taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also has a powerful suction and an automatic vacuum and mop bin for emptying. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, although it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This high-performing mop and vacuum combo utilizes advanced sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste and it will learn your home's layout over time for more efficient cleaning. You can modify its cleaning schedule and customize zones through the well-designed app. It has a battery lifespan that is comparable to other models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to pull back and extend its mops. This will help prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm can also be used to reach beneath furniture with low levels and along baseboards. 3. iRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek circular design that appears like a regular Roomba rather than the boxy units this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive looking models in our tests. The latest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop to score 100% in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can fully autonomously refill and empty its base station, and boasts an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is easy to use, offering a simple mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This can be a concern in the mornings before work, or in the evening when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also a bit expensive however, not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful however, it's more expensive and produce more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. It also comes with a feature called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas in the house depending on how dirty the areas tend to be.

If you have a larger home, you should consider selecting a model with a spot or zone cleaning mode. This allows you to instruct the robot on which part of your home needs to be cleaned with the help of an app or voice control. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair-mode is also useful. For busy families, a recharge function and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off can be very beneficial.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more intelligent than its price suggests. It's a pro at vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion, which cleans better than most of the other robot Mop (ezproxy.cityu.edu.hk) cleaners we've tried. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self emptying base that can be washed.

The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate a mapping run that collects data on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, set up a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to ensure better performance.
