Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet messes in one session and without the need to switch between devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good robot vacuum combination bot should be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the easiest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you running with a clean and complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.

The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can cleans up a mess and vacuums well too. Its mops spin at high speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of attachments and brushes, and an intuitive app that lets you pick the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

You could, for instance request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and its smart navigation technology are also excellent and the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models struggle with. The only problem is that it tends to hit walls and objects at a high speed. However looking at the cleaning history on the app will reveal exactly what the robot accomplished, where it's traveling, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.

The docking station features an LCD display that displays the need for maintenance, such as emptying debris and washing the water tank that is dirty. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank by using a 600ml bottle filled with eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can operate for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive and lets you look at every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's flagship robot mop and vacuum. Unlike last year's model this one has an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that allows it to pull up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.

As with the two other Roborock models I've tried it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes two cameras that can recognize objects, determining if they are walls or other surfaces. It then can alter its direction automatically and clean them without missing a step.

It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is eye catching, and it only has three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning process mop button, which doubles as a child lock, and a home-button to send the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin fills up automatically.

The only negative I found with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. You can replace the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these advanced features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, track battery life and component maintenance. You'll need to jump through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with innovative features, superior suction power, and advanced mowing abilities. Its intelligent design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair, crumbs and other dry messes. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. Additionally, the X40 is quiet in it's operation, producing only occasional squeaks of sound when switching between modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.

Another notable feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brush, that allows it to reach hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture such as table and chair legs. The robot vacuum that mops is also able to reach under low-profile furnishings which makes it a great option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush also automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots. This is a nice touch that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with the frequent back-and-forth movement.

Unlike some other robots that only focus on one task, the X40 can perform mopping and vacuuming at the same time or in a series. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and skip carpeted areas, and reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.

The app is user-friendly and easy to use, and the X40's smart features are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers many convenient features, making it a perfect option for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads and refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It can also tell when the mop pad is overflowing and alert you before it overflows, thus reducing the need for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive models available however, it comes with many extra features that set it apart. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature on its mop heads, makes use of two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can vacuum up pet hair and small dirt particles and also pick up spills and wet spots.

The mop is also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is beneficial as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from building up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen in other robot vacuums that mop vacuum and mop models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.

There's an impressive amount of settings available that include the ability to schedule cleaning and alter a variety of preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app or buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has a lot of options for customising the cleaning routine, and there are a lot of features that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles rather than using an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen on market, sporting metallic and white design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots on this list - at around 4kg but it's not too heavy, and feels sturdy and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors as well as in corners. They can even extend to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice feature.
