Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors and are particularly effective in cleaning pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws however, which hinder them from being our top option. 2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with self-emptying dustbins as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets but it falls behind some competitors in terms of deep cleaning.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

This mop and autonomous vacuum combination has a sleek, circular design that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the boxy models of the rivals. It is one of our most attractive looking robot vacuum that vacuums and mops vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is its most advanced model, with features that are cutting-edge like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop to score an absolute 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only best robot vacuum and mop we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, with an intuitive mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only real drawback is that it's an eerily noisy device that could be an issue if you use it in the morning before work or in the evening as you attempt to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, but it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally powerful and better-looking. This is a two-in-one vacuum that is very efficient however it's more expensive and produce more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra
