Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt) and wet messes (spills or stains) in one session without the need to change devices. They also can save space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads from the dock that is specifically designed for them.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer at a low cost, and it's among the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple, and the quick-start guide gets you up and running in no time with the complete dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that cleans up a mess and also vacuums well. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app which lets you choose the kind of cleaning you want for each room.

You can, for example request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation tech are excellent too, with the robot hoover being capable of detecting small obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only issue is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed. A handy LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance tasks are required, such as emptying the debris tray, and rinsing its dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank by itself, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to needing recharging or returning to the base. You can view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is well laid out and easily understood although we would have liked to be able to distinguish between a vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a cleaned area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. This year's model has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This increases the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pull up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may overlook.

The Roborock model, like the other two models I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it avoid obstacles such as walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates dual cameras that can detect objects, determining if they are walls or other surfaces. It is able to change its direction in a way that is automatic and clean around the objects without missing a step.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also feature-packed. Its sleek, angular design is eye-catching and it only has three physical buttons which include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to bring the best robot hoover back to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank is self-emptying, and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only issue I have found with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. It is possible to change the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off for washing manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot mop crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number intelligent features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app allows you to manage and set up these features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and track battery life. You'll need to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.

The app is simple and simple to use, and the X40's smart features are a breeze to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, look at floor plans and mapping and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress and notify you when it's done.

This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and dirty spots.

The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is an excellent feature because it prevents the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is a feature we've yet to see on other robot vacuum and mop models, and it could be a good method to keep your home clean for longer.

There are plenty of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. The app allows you to define these preferences, or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has many options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also offers several features that aren't offered on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.
