Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the Best item upgrader ways to upgrade your gear without relying upon large-ticket drops or trade. This article will show you how to upgrade your items efficiently.

Upgrades to equipment give a bonus on the item's stats. The bonus is according to the rarity and strength of the upgrade component.

Components

Upgrade components are the things that improve your armor and weapons better. You can acquire them by destroying enemies, finding them in item spheres or buying them from karma merchants. Upgrade components aren't destroyed by removing them from an item.

The main function of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded however, they also serve other purposes. They can be used to increase the level of an upgradeable item, or they can be used to boost the experience gained when upgrading an existing weapon or piece of gear. They can be made for additional benefits. For instance, a specially designed glyph will increase the chance of upgrading its target, and the boost upgrade can increase the attack or defense property of a weapon, or armor.

Selecting an upgrade template in the GUI will allow you to bind it to an item. This will display the upgrade components to which the item can be upgraded. You can also use the workbench to selecting an upgrade template. In either case, the item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components have been collected.

Each component has a distinct experience multiplier, which determines the amount of experience an item receives when it upgrades with that component. For instance, organic components have a more experience multipliers than mechanical ones. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade with organic components until you have reached the experience multiplier of the next rank of the weapon or gear, and then move to mechanical upgrades.

In addition to the experience multiplier, each item also has the maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of items that can be upgraded is determined by their upgradeable rank, and the kind of upgrade they can receive. For instance, the most expensive possible upgrade for a weapon is a weapon with tier 10. The most common weapon upgrade is a tier 6 gun and an armor upgrade of tier 5.

Sets

A set is a set of items that all share the same bonus. Each item can be upgraded at least once. The upgrade increases the guaranteed bonuses.
