Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills or staining) in one go without the need to change devices. They can also reduce space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual can get you up and running in no time. You'll have a an entire dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a range of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you could decide to let the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the kitchen and living rooms but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models can't. The only issue it has is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at full speed. However, a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed, and which obstacles it's avoided.

The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that shows when maintenance is needed for cleaning up debris and washing the water tank that is dirty. It also mixes detergent into the water tank by itself, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time, with the mop capable of running for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. The app is easy to use and intuitive and lets you see all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's top robot mop and vacuum. Unlike last year's model this one has an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which greatly improves carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that allows it to pick up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners might miss.

Like the two other Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that can help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by having a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they're an object that is a wall or a different surface. It then can alter its course automatically and clean them, without missing a step.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek angular design is striking and comes with three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning process mop button, which doubles up as a child-lock, and a home-button to take the best robot vacuum that mops to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin fills up automatically.

The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. You can replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've observed that any carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. However, you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control with this model which is a pity considering the performance of this model.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its smart design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while saving time.

The X40 is the first robot best automatic vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the best robot vacuum that mops alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry messes. It has a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without the use of pads. The X40 is also very quiet when in operation, with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.

Another standout characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush which allows it to get into difficult-to-access corners and clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to get under furniture with a low profile making it an ideal choice for small apartments and condominiums with small spaces. The side brush also automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots. This is a nice addition that assists the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by the frequent back-and-forth movement.

Contrary to other robots which only focus on one thing, the X40 can perform both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or separately. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is easy to use and intuitive and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, change modes, look at floor plans and maps, and manage mopping setting. The X40 will also track its progress, and alert you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many features which make it a good choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, then refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It also can detect whether the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. However, it has many features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature in its mops, uses two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can remove pet hair and other small dirt particles and also pick up spills and wet spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This is a great feature since it prevents the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is a feature we've yet to see on other robot vacuum and mop models, and it could be a great method of keeping your home cleaner for longer.

There's a wealth of options available which include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and adjust a number of different preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app or there are buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers a variety of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also has several functions that are not available on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list but it's not too heavy. It is solid and well-built. The mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors and in corners. They can also extend to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature which is a nice feature.
