WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.

The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less important for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and is accessible anytime to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current item upgrade level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other items. They are purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which displays a preview of the item upgrades at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and the current level of the item and the weapon's price is higher than bracers or gloves, for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item Level Upgrade has been upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. For example, once an item is at the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the Best item upgrade gear you have available and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to benefit from the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
