WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the Best item upgrade level by +3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.

Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for those with higher variance due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader kit upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item upgrader kit that is used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be visited at any time to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the item level, however they'll always be cheaper than buying new gear. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that are used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and accessories. They can be purchased by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. The button will display the preview of an item's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot for the item and the current item level. For instance, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or crests used. Once an item upgrading has been upgraded to a certain amount it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Many locations have upgraders for their items, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and the chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded, and can be boosted by having players complete specific achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety of methods. This is both a positive and an issue.

In Season 3, many new features have been added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a certain level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to that level will cost less, even when they belong to an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

Players have a number of choices when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and easiest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade can require up to 20 crests, depending on the kind of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by finishing tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulties to get equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with heroic difficulty for endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an item Level upgrade upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item upgrader kit in the proper steps and routes.

Using these new currencies isn't too difficult however, the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear that you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to avail the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
