World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The upgrade of an item allows players to boost the gear score of an item to 700 and add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.

Certain items can be upgraded to increase their stats (like a perfectly broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) while others like weapons don't change much post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats such as crit chance, attack damage PvE and PvP damage. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. In addition there are many weapons with a set bonus which is activated when three or more of the same weapon are present on a single unit. This bonus may be greater than the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can do.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue increase until it is required to use the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons will also alter the stats of the base. This is usually a positive factor, but it could also have negative effects. Upgrades can make things inaccessible, unless you're very lucky.

Armor items can also be upgraded to increase their effectiveness. This can increase the base defense of a helm or chest while belts and gloves will boost their required strength and agility. Armor also offers the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it can sometimes roll back to a lower number.

The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading and their relative values. This means that an upgrade from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon receiving 33% attack damage. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will be hit three times less, since it is an absolute number.

A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button with arrows that circle in the item upgrader kit menu. The item will be rerolled and change its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level nor tie it to the account status.

Armor

Adding a few upgrades to your armor can make a huge differences in your ability to survive. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE increases in poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which makes it easier to navigate through tough terrain. In general, the more defense you can offer your character, the more health you will receive from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game, and to unlock each one you must complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed the main quest and the corresponding fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees required to complete each will vary. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade items the initial armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, for example, can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which allows you to keep up in frigid conditions with a large number of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded to +20 defense to ensure you're able to withstand a rout with friends.

Be aware that armor can't be upgraded in the same way as weapons, so you'll have to focus on enhancing it to increase physical power if you're a Warrior or Spell Power in the case of a Mage. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you will still be wearing by the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

You can also unlock some advantages to your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll generally want to save these upgrades to the weapon that you'll use to beat the game. For instance the Longsword or Battleaxe. Potions

Potions are substances in bottles that, if consumed, give the player a temporary status effect. There are five kinds of potions, each with different effects and durations. To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This opens an GUI where you can select the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll give you when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP count.

When a poton is upgraded in quality, it will not deteriorate unless you use it again or break the bottle within which it is kept. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change its name.

Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the mechanism of potions. For example, splash potions now have an average duration of 0.08 seconds (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the item hover display). The table of potion now crafted from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Unlike the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be combined in cauldrons. This is the same for using a potion in a cauldron that is full. This will deplete the potion, and refill the bottle.

In addition, there are lingering potions, which are made with splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone can also be added to lingering potions to extend their effect. The table of potions is rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added such as the potion of leaping and decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket can be described as a small and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also refer to an object or decoration that serves a purpose but is not particularly significant such as a trinket. In some cultures, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, specifically between family members.

Players can upgrade trinkets as well as weapons or armor, as well as potions. They can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. As with other upgrades to items trinkets are able to be exchanged at will without losing their status.

Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of every zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available using tokens, gold or fragments of trinkets that are rare.

The upgrade of a trinket can be a cost-effective alternative to purchasing an entirely new one. It is possible to upgrade the player for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl as old one, and will include an additional 1% upgrade bonus.

Trinkets can be upgraded when the old ones are no longer useful which allows a player to boost their power and value over time. They can be traded between players which makes them a good alternative to gold.

Players must upgrade their most valuable items first. This usually means the Best item upgrader-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondaries and then other gear items that they won't replace soon (for example rings or cloaks). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when choosing the items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to tank players and they want to upgrade their chest, helm and shoulders.

When they are no longer useful, trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket has an additional bonus of 1. Re-upgrading can cause damage to the trinket unless it can be salvaged using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades, but still less expensive than buying an entirely new trinket.
