Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, also known as "upping," improves an item upgrading's stats. Each upgrade increment provides a linear increase in a given stat.

Players can recycle six items at a time to gauge each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases depending on their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

An upgrade for an item in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the effectiveness of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved in a variety of ways, including by using upgrade components or increasing an item's rarity or mark level. In addition to this, many items can be reforged, which could boost their stats even more.

Upgradeable items are available throughout the game, both around the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. Upgrade components are the most common method to upgrade equipment. These are items that can slot into equipment. Most equipment has slots to upgrade, and many require a certain level of upgrade. Almost all weapons can be upgraded by the use of a prefix upgrade for example, an insignia or rune, and many can be upgraded using a suffix upgrade. These upgrades change the name of the item, adding an adjective, like 'Radiant' or 'Minor Vigor. The only exceptions are the non-inscribable wands, the foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any mods in any way.

Glyphs

Glyphs are a way to communicate visual information. They are animated to draw the attention of the viewer and entice curiosity. The glyphs' animation mimics the body language and makes them more effective in communicating an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs also improve the retention of messages by creating an emotional connection in the brain.

Each glyph comes with a range of values that it can increase a stat's value in the form of an item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an artifact. This is the maximum value that the glyph can improve a stat by and not the amount it actually increases it by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and quality of the item you're creating it for.

The majority of upgrade components that are installed into items cannot be removed or replaced without dismantling them, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. However, if you have a rune or glyph that has not yet been added to your gear, you can move it to a different piece equipment by utilizing the upgrade Glyphs context menu within the Glyphs panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can take out a glyph by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item will be destroyed that it was installed in but you will be able to salvage the upgraded item with the glyph and its fragments, so this should not be considered as a loss.

A glyph added to an item may cause it to be unstable, and the shards of the glyph will disappear from your inventory when you remove the item. You can also add the glyph on your equipment to provide an extra benefit. Deferred Damage, for example can store damage, and then be dealt slowly to the wearer instead of all at one time. This is beneficial for players who take a lot of damage from enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to change the affixes that are placed on weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from a variety of sources, such as mystery boxes, rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Each reroll provides the player with an affix randomly chosen and generally better than the one they had before. Reroll tokens are also a good option to reroll stats on weapons and can be upgraded for better damage or perks.

Rerolled items don't appear on the menu for upgrade options, but they can be upgraded. Rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button that alters the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to be selected to recycle. The level gauge is boosted by recycling an item. This amount is determined by the item's rarity as well as its level, therefore items with higher levels are more useful to recycle than lower-level ones.

The developers have no plans to implement paid rerolls at this point in the game's development. Instead, they plan to add an option to change the race in the future.

Leveling

There are many ways to upgrade an item. The most effective method to level up an upgrade for an item is by increasing the upgrade amount. This increases the upgrade value for any stat. The second option is to increase the effect of the upgrade, which boosts the healing or damage for an individual stat. The base item can be upgraded to a more advanced upgrade type.
